Truffle Butter Popcorn


Truffles! I know what you are thinking wow such an elegant popcorn dish. Truffles unfortunately are not a common ingredients found here in the US or Miami to be specific. But when it is season and if you have ever tasted truffles before you will indulge and purchase some for your kitchen. Truffles are common in European countries and are in season during the fall months. I actually purchased the truffles used for this dish in Italy 2 years ago. I know 2 years ago! These truffles were sold shaved in an air tight container and add a little elegant delicacy to such a common and simple snack like popcorn. 

Truffle butter popcorn is a fabulous snack when watching a movie, having a red carpet watch party, or having a wine, cheese, and snack night. It is beyond simple to make, like literally so so so simple, pop, melt, and mix. 

So next time you make a bag of popcorn for a Netflix night, turn up the elegance of the bowl of popcorn with a bit of truffles. 




Yields 4-6 servings 

Time 10 minutes 


4 cups organic popcorn (I used Whole Foods 365 brand) 

2 Tablespoons unsalted butter - melted 

1 teaspoon truffle oil 

Fresh Summer Truffle Shavings 

A pinch of white pepper 


1. Pop the popcorn according to the instructions on the package. Once popped place the popcorn in a large bowl. 

2. In a sauce pan melt together the butter and the truffle oil. Once melted add the white pepper and pour over the popcorn. Gently toss together to coat each kernel with the melted butter and truffle oil. Garnish the truffle butter popcorn with shavings of fresh truffles.
